PDF

Trim wide margins for easier reading on a phone, cut a scan down to the actual receipt, or isolate a chart for a slide. Draw the crop area on the page preview and apply it to that page or the whole document.

How to crop PDF pages

  1. Open the PDF and wait for the page preview.
  2. Drag on the page to draw the area you want to keep.
  3. Choose where to apply it and press Crop PDF.

Good to know

  • By default the crop box is set on the page, which is what PDF readers and printers use. The hidden content still exists in the file and could be recovered.
  • Tick “Permanently remove content” if the hidden area contains anything sensitive – those pages are converted to images.

Frequently asked questions

Is cropping reversible?

A standard crop can be undone by tools that reset the crop box. Use the permanent option to remove the content for good.

Can I crop different pages differently?

Crop one page at a time with “Only the page shown”, then run the result through again for the next page.

Will cropping reduce file size?

A standard crop does not, because the content is kept. The permanent option may increase or reduce size depending on the page.
