Not every table needs the whole PDF converted. Extract Tables scans each page for aligned columns, shows each table it finds with a live preview, and lets you export the ones you want to Excel or CSV – ideal for research papers, price lists and financial reports.
How to extract tables from a PDF
- Open the PDF to scan it for tables.
- Review the detected tables in the preview.
- Export all tables to one Excel workbook or download any table as CSV.
Good to know
- Detection looks for two or more aligned columns across consecutive lines. Tables drawn as images need OCR first.
- Each table becomes its own sheet in the Excel export, named after its page.
Frequently asked questions
What if a table is not detected?
Very sparse tables or ones with long wrapped text can be missed. PDF to Excel with “All text” exports everything in columns as a fallback.
Can I extract tables from scanned PDFs?
Run OCR PDF first so there is text to analyse.
Does it keep cell formatting?
Values are kept; colours, borders and merged cells are not.
